When I first started pyrography, I didn’t have much guidance, which led to plenty of trial and error—especially when it came to safety. One of my biggest mistakes was burning on wood finished with oil. Not only did it burn poorly, but it also released toxic fumes that could have seriously impacted my health. Thankfully, I caught on before it became a real issue, but it was a lesson learned the hard way.
