Hi there! My name is Adriana and I am the face behind Sapling + Spruce. What started out as a hobby has turned into much more, and I couldn't be more grateful. I specialize in rustic home decor and nursery keepsakes. My art consists of woodburning and hand-mixed acrylic watercolor with muted tones. My favorite pieces contain live-edge bark and give the cabin + farmhouse feel that is present in my everyday life.

Hi there! I am SO thrilled to be part of this amazing community! I’m a wife and mom of two super active, sports loving boys (yup, I’m a soccer/baseball/taekwondo mom!) I love coffee, lots and lots of coffee, hoarding art supplies and just having fun with my family! I’ve been woodburning since late August of 2019 and have been loving every minute! I was gifted my wood burning tools by my father, who I get my love for the arts from. He was so excited to sit and burn with me, but life had other plans. After he passed, I needed a way to connect with him and wood burning does just that. I am so grateful for this opportunity and look forward to learning from my peers!

Hello there!

I am Anja, the face behind Calisanja. In my art I enjoy contrasting realistic detail with simple lines and bold colors. My series Zoom out for the bigger picture combines all three and sometimes adds even a little bit of sparkle. Watercolors are my favorite way of adding colorful splashes and I even made some of the paints I use myself.

My grandmother taught me how to carve and burn wood when I was about twelve and I've loved working with wood ever since. I'm a mom of three kids ages 10, 9, and 5 and work full time as a Curator at our local Art Museum. I like to work mostly in realism with animal portraiture and nature imagery but I'm open to discussing any designs and ideas to see what is possible. I'm best known for my pet portraits to capture the personality and image of your furry (or feathers, scales, etc.) friends!
