Julie Frye
My husband gifted me my pyrography set for Christmas 2022. I may be new to pyrography but I have 18+ years of creating stained glass art, both copper foil & lead methods.
I was looking for a way to continue creating art while my husband & I travel in our 1977 Airstream Argosy that we did a full frame off restoration on. I am so looking forward to woodburning around a campfire, how fun & peaceful is that going to be!
Our daughter has young autistic twins who we love being around. I have started to burn a silly animal collection that will go in their playroom. I am thrilled to have a wonderful new hobby that I can take on our travels and perhaps some day turn into a business.
I am very lucky to find such an uplifting community to join. Thank you everyone for your wonderful feedback.

Khyati Patel of Auric.hout
Born in a Gujarati family, she is known as Khyati Patel. She was brought up in Surat and is presently residing at Ahmedabad. Being a professional pilot, she stumbled on pyrography a couple of years back. "Pyrography" - the art of burning a surface and giving it an artistic look. It is commonly done on wood, paper, leather canvas, etc. She's a self taught artist, with preferred medium of work being wood and paper. She loves to experiment a lot with her work and thereby develop her skills further. Her mantra is “Learning never stops" and she stands by that. She had varied interest like crochet, baking etc but her passion for pyrography is unlimited. Her passion for art can be seen in her works. She also won second position in an art competition, “Mukhote online contest", organized by Mukhote creative Art Foundation. And hoping to win many more in future.

Krista Webb of BlindLove Wood Burning
Kristin Buchanan of The Wandering Pyro
Hello there! I'm Kristin Buchanan, The Wandering Pyro. I grew up in the Missouri in the Ozark foothills. My childhood was filled with explorations of the outdoors by hiking, camping, and road tripping.
My love of wood brought me to the art of pyrography. I began my wood burning journey in 2018 with simple doodles and shapes as I have no formal art training. The velvety softness of the wood and the smell of wood smoke ignited my senses. My outdoor adventures as well as my time spent with wild animals are a continuous source of inspiration. I want my art to be a way for people to bring nature into their homes and remember the wildness we all have within us.
